Hi Folks:
It's that time of year again when the itch to get out on the ice has started and I am sure there are lots of members already chomping at the bit to hit the ice.
The crazy waves over the past week stirred up the lake but the only sign of ice prior today were icicles hanging from plants and docks along the shoreline.
Today the lake was basically calm, the wind was non existent and given the cold air temperature along with the low lake temperature, I observed some sheets/ice drifts around the boat slips in the Island Grove area.
So rest assured - ice is slowly starting to form and given the -18 C overnight temperatures forecast for several nights this week I am certain the lake will start to freeze over in the near future.
Rest assured and be patient - there is ice in sight - hopefully in the near future. In the meantime - its probably time to get your ice fishing gear ready to go.
