thanks for all the help. i settled on just using a smitty, and i plan on taking the flip over off to use.

This was me last year. Total weight hut and gear about 150lbs. On ice it was like pulling a feather literally and on the slushy snow it was a bit of a workout but nothing to cry about. I'm 62 and 155 lbs so no spring chicken. So it'll be leg power til the ice is thick enough for the quad.

Off the smitty and setup. There is also a full 20lb propane tank and heater inside

my smitty sled is on skis, but its 4 foot wide. Does smitty sled width matter?

for some reason, i have the feeling that the same weight spread out on a wider smity sled will be harder to pull than the same weight on a narrow smitty sled.

can someone chime in?

How often do you find you need the smitty for guys with a 2 man? I will mostly be fishing simcoe and GB with the hut

and for those that put skis right onto the hut, is say a 6 ft or less ski suitable. I want to fit it all into the bed of my truck and close the tailgate

When it comes to width i got lucky with my build. Its the same width as most ski doo skis. Occasionally i will be able to follow in the tracks of one that passes. It's not always perfect but every little bit helps sluggin thru the snow. Im still able to have my hut on the side of my sled with auger on top.
