who eats what on the ice?, share your ice fishing diet!!

Libby's pork and beans and grilled cheese sandwichs heated on the homemade grill on my "little buddy heater". Thermos of black tea.

hey any chance you cold post a pic of the homemade grill, i would use the little buddy more but lack of cooking ability means i stick to the cat style heaters since they sit flat

Sandwiches and granola bars mostly but I will often bring leftovers from the previous nights dinner. Pizza, pasta, etc.

I have a good thermos so soup can be made/heated up the day before.

coffee in thermos like everyone else.

Been looking into how I could fry on the ice as I have access to frying oil and potatoes for free at work. I would also be very interested in the custom little buddy heater cooker rig and how hot it makes the oil/pan

I love to cook out there on the ice! Nothing better than a hot meal when things get quite around lunch time!

grilled cheese made the night before is a really good idea as well. its good that i can just bring my buddy heater to warm it up. instead of a propane stove.

Pizza is a really good idea as well. like an open faced grilled cheese LOL, wont have to bring propane burner, just the buddy heater!!

Thanks, it's part of the allure of ice fishing for me! It's a chance to sit back relax, have a drink or two, shoot the breeze with a buddy, cook something up, and of course catch some fish!

Begals with cold cuts and cheese, granola bars, oat meal porridge for breakfast, coffee and whiskey.

Venison sausages and a few pints always

I warm up my food inside aluminum foil, or canned food, using a metal wire to hold it in place.

Before warming up the can, I open it, so pressure won't build up due to the heat.
