who eats what on the ice?, share your ice fishing diet!!

fix that attitude!!, either you are fishing in the wrong spot, or the fish can smell your attitude. LOL

ps. many ex-mcdonalds workers say the fillet o fish is the worst thing to roder as they rarely sell and thus are kept on hand for long periods (long turn around)

Oh man, you just killed the fillet o fish. Looks like I'll have to learn how to fish. Lol

When we're perch'n, we'll usually bring the grill with us.
Sausages, ribs, chipapoles, spiducci,, steak on a bun, burgers lol (whatever fits).

Other days, we'll do a pasta on the frying pan. (pre cooked)

The group normally decides a day or two prior what the theme will be & we go from there.

If & when alone, its usually a full thermos of coffee, soup or sandwich, granola bars. (the flask has a designated spot in my tackle bag)

Never,, never, never, ever ... ever EVER !! do I bring,,, bananas !

1oz Brandy
1oz coffee liqueur

fill cup with coffee
Top with whip cream and a cherry!

I've been following this thread closely and compared to my sandwiches, granola bars and coffee, some of this stuff is a gourmet feast.

When on a 45 good for heat . Put flat to cook on

Fry pan grilled cheese Kettle hot water coffee tea . pot soup beans wieners

I carry my portaging kettle, pot and burner (extremely light).

Usually carry a 3L camleback and use the water for tea/coffee and make everything from cupped noodles to sausages to a fish fry on the ice

First post in a long time. Was thinking of a single propane stove to make stuff out there. At Tim Hales we make grilled cheeses when with the kids.. Sandwiches sound easier but the kids are spoiled now...lol

I usually don't eat much but when I go home to fish the lake I grew up on my mom still packs me a lunch. Doesn't really matter what it is, she knows the gig, been feeding ice fishermen for decades and to this day nothing beats a meal made by mom.

If you ask for a filet o fish made to order they will make a fresh one. You just have to wait 5 mins.
As for meals on the ice.

If going alone I usually just grab some timmies and a thermos maybe some granola. With wife or friends I bring out the Coleman and a frypan. Sausies and beans, or bacon and beans on a bun. As well as a perc for coffee. Nothing beats fresh coffee on the ice imo.
