The biggest perch lately are not in Simcoe. Are on the South shore or Ontario and Erie. Because in those parts there is no such pressure that we have on Simcoe. The slot won't fix the problem, but some relive of the pressure will do. I won't mind if the daily limit will be lowered to 30, that probably it is more appropriate. And I don't target the perch during the winter time. I think those buggers that give us so much pleasure during the summer time, deserve a break. Unfortunately winter is boring here in Canada and percination during the January and February is a nice activity for many. We need more lakes like Simcoe or mind your catch.
I live and fish on lake erie, and I would have to disagree! I have caught waaaay more 13”plus fish on simcoe! And as far as pressure goes, simcoe does not have commercial fishing. Yes lake erie is a huge fishery, but the commercial pressure has an impact on the perch.

They all taste good to me....10 inches or 18 inches......the regs say 50....who am I to disagree with the regs....if Perch were scarce I am sure the regs would change....someone else said the dirty word......CORMORANT.......a season on them would be good.....that would save a lot of perch for us to eat.
