The Swans Return to Island Grove, Lake/Ice Conditions - December 19, 2017

Hi Folks:

While checking out the lake/ice conditions in the Island Grove area this afternoon I was surprised to discover there were 2 small flocks of swans sitting/resting out in the channel between the mainland and Snake Island.

From the mainland I could see large white blobs/objects sitting out on the ice but I couldn't really tell what the blobs were until they lifted off and flew away.
Trust me seeing the swans made my day.

It is really hard to see the swans in the attached photo without zooming in.

first off, thanks for the report, always appreciate it!!

secondly that is a beautiful sight. seeing the calm water and majestic creatures must have been a pleasure in itself. even though many of us are dying to get on the ice, this will suffice for now.
