somebody is having a nice snack tonight!! Merry Christmas
**Report Included**
It's the most wonderful time of the year. After all the reports good and bad, rumors and back and forth, I decided it was time to head up and check the ice for myself.
Got to Gilford around 630am. Pretty sure I was first on the ice. There were tracks but looked like they were from yesterday. Safety gear in tow I headed out. Took my time and spudded my way, drilled a few holes along the way. It ranged mostly 4-6" but I did come across a couple spots that were only 2"...
Headed to my favorite honey hole, and had action within 10 seconds. Fished 18FOW to start and eventually headed to 14. Both depths produced. I'm very pleased with both the amount of fish I saw, and the number of Jumbos I saw.
Ended at 1pm (Christmas stuff tonight) iced around 100 perch total. Threw back the dinks and aome of the biggerJumbos (around 13"). Brought home a nice fry for the family to settle us into the holidays.
Final thought is it looks to be safe ice. Still be cautious, spud your way out, and have all the safety gear needed. Hope everyone has a great hard water season. Stay Safe and Merry Christmas!
