With the cold temps this year Im thinking of running a 5lb tank instead of the screw in 1lb tanks. My question is, can I run a 6' line from the tank to the buddy heater direct or do I have to install a regulator also ?

I asked same question when I was buying adapter and was told the regulator was not necessary because the heater already has a regulator built in. I purchased without. Still might be nice to have.

This is the hose sold and eliminates the need for a filter..
All the other hoses recommend using a filter...scroll to the bottom and you will see no filter needed with this hose..

GOOD MORRNING EVERYONE MY NAME IS ROB FROM NIAGARA FALLS, THIS IS MY FIRST REPLEY IVE BEEN READING YOUR MESSAGE BOARD FOR YEARS AND HAPPY TO SIGN UP, IF I CAN HELP IN ANY WAY I WIIL, MY EXPERIANCE WITH MY BUDDY HEATER OVER THE YEARS IS THAT IF YOU USE A HEATER HOSE EXTENSION YOU MUST USE A FILTER, A SHORTER HOSE IS BETTER, WHAT HAPPENS IS THAT WHEN YOU USE A HOSE THE BLACK OIL FROM THE HOSE WILL LEEK INTO YOU UNIT AND WILL BLOCK YOUR COMPONITS IN THE HEATER, IVE TAKIN MY HEATER FULLY APART AND CLEARING ALL THE LINES OUT USEING HOT WATER AND AIR GUN LOTS OF WORK, JUST REAMBER WERE ALL THE PARTS GO BACK IN ORDER, WHEN YOU TURN OFF YOUR HEATER YOU SHOULD LET YOUR HEATER BURN OUT THAT WAY YOUR NOT LEEVING USED PROPANE IN YOUR LINES, THEN REAMBER TO TURN IT OFF, SO IF YOU HAVE ONE OF THESE AND USEING A HOSE YOU BETER PURCHES A FILTER FOR IT, BASS PRO, CAN TIRE 12 BUCKS WELL WORTH IT.

U don't need reg. I would definitely use a filter. I plugged mine up during prime ice fishing had to waste a day tearing it apart cleaning gas lines. Also as a note most places don't fill the tanks to capacity so I would take a small scale with you to weigh the talk. A 5 lb tnk is perfect for 2 day weekend

Canadian tire picked one up yesterday last one though in the store $50.00.
Still a few around. Go on line and check the website. If your local CT doesn't have one it can be shipped to store next day at the latest.

ALSO WHEN EVER ANYBODY BUY'S A NEW TANK YOU SHOULD HAVE IT PURGED IT REQUIRES A SPECIAL ADAPTER TO ALLOW A SMALL AMOUNT OF PROPANE IN. THE PRESSURE THEN PUSHES AIR OUT OF A ONE WAY BLEEDER VALVE. WHEN YOU TAKE IT TO FILL FOR THE FIRST TIME THEY MAY CHARGE YOU A FEE OF THREE OR FOUR DOLLERS, IF YOU BUY YOUR TANK @ THE SAME PLASE THEY SHOULD WAIVE YOU FEE, GOOD FISHING EVERYONE !!!!!!

I was thinking of going the same route with a 5lb propane tank, compare to caring the 1lb bottles, and lugging a 20lb tank, l know some CT care them for $50 which that size never go's on sale, does anyone know where to pick one up for less then $50, l'm in the Toronto area?

There's a post in the buy and sell. There's a place in Bradford that sells refurbished tanks
