So I heard that there will be no more parking for people who aren't locals at Johnson's beach and there are "No Parking" signs on the streets now.

They seem to got rid of the machine to pay for parking and now for only city residents. Also can't park on street I did notice that. I am a Barrie resident but it's not very welcoming for out of towners

Well when you tell eveyone your spot and the place becomes a zoo garbage everywhere they shut it down. Its a beach not the dump. Another spot lost. Good job

This all sounds crazy we live in Canada a free country. With more fresh water then any other country in the world . We live here we pay taxes here . And we can't go fishing. Our government likes to sell off water front land only allowing the rich to use it . They should stop this BS . If it's about people littering then punish those people . Start impounding their car or hand out 1000.00 dollar fines . Don't give the right to a few to deside to punish everyone for the actions of a few . DEAL with it or move away if you won't

Was the residents only restriction for the entire year or might this be only a seasonal by-law such as May 15th to Oct. 15th??
Also - is the Tiffin Launch facility under similar restrictions??
The mayor of Barrie is highly respected and somehow I can't see the logic in the listed restriction. I'm surprised he would support such a sanction.

The parking ticket (fine) is $20? Mmmm, it sounds like a very good deal to me, hahaha. I mean if you go to Gilford now, and park at that Township of Innisfil paid parking lot nearby it is $35!:-)
