Hey y’all
I bought a Celsius flat line rod reel combo and got one for Christmas from wal-mart. I have not used them yet. Just wondering if anyone has these and how well they work. The reel seems a little on the cheap side but looks like it would be good against ice building up.

Thanks!

the major benefit to this type of reel is you get less line twist vs a spin cast set up, this can be effective when perch are very picky and dont like your bait spinning at all but you can avoid this by adding a good quality swivels on the spin set ups.

Not familiar with this exact reel but the ones i have tried did not have a drag system and required you to use your hand to create drag and i found this uncomfortable for prolong use, i'm sure somebody will chime in with expertise on this subject as it was many years ago and it was my river fishing days and we call these center pins.

Thanks for your input. Mine has a drag system so that’s nice but it doesn’t have the drag release button so I think I have to pull the line by hand to get my bait down.

Thanks! I might have to check those out. Most of my spinning reels only last me a couple seasons before they start buggering up
