Had to go into Orillia this afternoon, so I came home along the shore road between lines 9 & 7. Frozen up tight, but I was not on the ice and have no idea of the thickness.
First picture is at the 9th line boat ramp looking South towards Big Bay Point. Someone had gone out on a snowmobile staying close to shore.
Second picture is at line 7, once again looking towards Big Bay Point. People were out skating on the ice with their dogs. It looked like someone had walked straight out about 200-300 yards.
I didn't have time to go down around lines 5 & 6, but looking down that way there was a portable hut out. I hope they were fishing for Perch and not trying to poach lakers and whities.
Remember the season doesn't open until Monday.
