If the kids are under 16 they dont need a license. You will need a license to handle the rods and fish etc

Try these operators they will help you out

Always best to go with an operator first time out ice fishing

Kids under 16 no need but you do. Can purchase one from Canadian Tire or one of the operaters.

The age is 18, but yes, the kids may fish, but you may not. Honestly its worth it just to pay the 15$, if your going to pay 50$ to be there you must well just pay the extra 15 and fish yourself.

Kids over 65 don't need a license either....that's me.....but carry your drivers licence for proof of age.

I always like it when the MNR ask for my fishing license.....I carefully watch their face when I say ....I don't have a fishing licence.....then let it hang a bit and say....but I have a drivers license.

Also if you have a permanent handicap badge/sticker...you are also good to go and it serves as a Sport license not a Conservation license.

If I were you I'd stick to using an operator for your first venture out. They supply rides and heated huts. Just bring your gear, licenses and some food and drinks
