Hi Folks:

Took a drive up to the lake late this afternoon to check out the lake/ice conditions.

When we arrived at the lake we encountered complete white out conditions and visibility was at best 200 feet and as a result we decided not to head out on the lake.

As we were leaving we saw 2 people walking towards the mainland and I briefly spoke to them. They were returning from Snake Island and they advised me they had crossed to Snake Island on Sunday and there was 7 inches of ice in the channel between the mainland and Snake Island.

I noted there was 1-2 inches of fresh snow on top of the ice, however, the wind was blowing and I suspect there will be snow drifts around the lake if the snow continues.
