Any tips on early ice crappies? Seem that i cant find them. Any tips would be appreciated. Depth, color lure, or time of day would help me out. Thank you

You can't find them, because Scugog is fished out other then the dinky perch there isn't much swimming in Scugog anymore.

I'd start with a good hydrographic chart. You can easily pick out the ideal areas to start your search.

You probably right. I walk around Cesarea all day last Sunday, drilled 20 to 30 holes covering 5 ft to 20 ft, only found 3inch perches.

I was fishing in Scugog for the last 2 years by port perry, everytime we went out it was always tiny bluegills and perch. I only ever got lucky on the first time I went to scugog, it was the season opener and we saw a Bass and the biggest Muskie I've ever seen.

I usually do have much luck early in season, just go out to cure my itch.

Apparently some of the locals know some good spots here where there's walleye & good sunfish but I never found this mystical place

I don't think the locals are keeping walleye... that would be against regulations... scugog is closed 365 days a year (366 on leap years) for walleye... no one breaks the regulations

I was out by the Boat Launch in Port Perry (Maybe a KM from the launch. Solid 6 inches of ice. Usually catch a number of perch, most are around 5 inches. I did catch a small bass (threw it back) and spotted a 3 lb largie eyeing my minnow. Slower than normal but there are still some big perch. Caught a 16" last year in the same spot. Usually I get about a dozen over 8 inches.
