Size 04 rippin rap for active jumbos. Lindy ice worm jighead with a pinhead or small plastic if inactive, they get to the bottom pretty quickly for a micro jig which can be the difference maker for keeping a cruising school underneath your hole

Last year I picked up some slab grabbers. If it warms up a bit this weekend I am planning on going perch fishing. Do you guys bait the slab grabbers with a minnow head or a worm?

No don’t tip them it just hides the bead which is the target for the fish. It can also mess with the action of the lure and be sure to put it on a swivel.

This really depends on how deep you are fishing. Shallow and deep are different choices for me. I prefer fishing 24-30 feet deep and for that I would say jigging rap, followed by a perch colored buckshot spoon. These are both big fish presentations. If perch are not aggressive a smaller meegs type jig with a small pin head shiner threaded on works great. Fish that presentation on a rod with a very soft tip with lots of backbone (deadstick rod).

Moonman, this is exactly my set up, we fish the 24-30 fow as well, slab grabbers work but i find i get more 13"+ jumbos on the jigging raps and the buckshots with a rattle.
