I catch lots of pike in marshes off of lake ontario in the spring thru to the fall, does anyone target pike in frozen marshes? I have heard they are known to have out in marshes just off big lakes but have not tried it out. Going out this week to see for myself. If anyone on here has expirence, tips or know how, would be greatly appreciated! I figure I will mostly try dead baiting (have a couple frozen ilwives (spelling? Haha) in the freezer. All I know is this particular spot I am trying, in the summer they went mad for anything fire tiger, esspecialy the husky jerk, no monsters, biggest was a 30"(pictured below) but any pike will be fun thru the ice!
Cheers for any help!

The trick would be finding marshes with deep enough areas that don't freeze solid or do an oxygen kill with all the dying vegetation. For these areas I would concentrate on where any fresh sources of oxygenated water may be coming in. Good luck!

Thanks! Went out today for a bit, I was at about 6 feet according to my sonor, about 9" of ice and about 200 feet from the mouth to the lake, right beside a weed bed, no luck.
