I love to ice fish and I fish often, I have all my own gear except a sled/4 wheeler. So I try and fish places close enough to walk out. Except this time out my Wife, (yes my wife) wanted to see what the fuss was all about, so I called Taj. Booked for this morning and after paying and saying hi to the family we were on the ice before 7:30 am. A great bucket of minnows (not those silly little things) and a super warm hut with great ventilation awaited my wife and I. In we go and and the bite started right away, it was a perchfest the entire day, and my wife out fished me. We kept 24 slabs and threw back at least 75 between the two of us. The bite was so continuos that I only played with my camera for 10 minutes, and we did not eat anything because we didn't want to miss a slab. Taj is an amazing operator who is very genuine and hard working. To have the owner take me and my wife out and pick us up himself, check on us twice, refresh our minnows and then to put us on the fish, all for 90 bucks!!!!! Is absolutely AMAZING.. I believe in giving credit where credit is due, I fish Simcoe religeuosly through the winter on my own and do quite well. But when I need to be pampered Casey's is my go to. Listen take it from a 48 year old chubby guy, I get pampered at Taj's. My wife now loves icefishing and understands what the fuss is all about. Not sure if that will be good for me or not, but i'm glad she is happy. Thanks Taj, and thanks Casey's for another great adventure. I will try and get some pics up tommorow, now i'm home and heading to my bed.........

I agree. When we went this past Sunday. Taj came back to us and made sure we are ok and everyone (kids) are having a good time.

While ive never fished Taj's huts, ive been over to Port Bolster and used his parking and minnows. I also fished 2-3 KM out until dark due to the intensity of the fishing, sort of forgetting my walk back. Walked the 1 KM or so back to Tajs huts where he was picking up some other customers. Without asking, he offered me a ride in, free of charge with all my gear. Not only was his parking super convenient, and less expensive then other spots ive been, his scoop of minnows cost me 5$, and was by far the best scoop of minnows ive ever bought! Mind you that is after I dumped em on the ice accidentally walking out and had to pick em all back up and put em back into a slushy water slurry till I got a hole dug. Not one dead minnow, and nice size. Since me experience with Taj, ive always suggested him when anyone asks, and will continue to. He really does have a A+ operation!

Taj is a great person. I drive quite a few extra miles just to support his business and buying the minnows from him in the fall and in the winter for perch fishing. Casey’s a great place to go.

i took my wife to a hut operator in Ahmic Harbor and he had us on a hot crappie bite, she handily out fished me as well but thats because i spend the entire time baiting and taking fish off her hook but it was worth it as she had fun. That said if you know crappies they are on like hot fire and then off for a few hours, so i made her a bed for her to nap 3 hrs later she wakes up and the bite is on again and she goes back to catching... she thinks ice fishing is easy and doesn't understand why we go for Lakers and whittes to get skunked when perch and crappies are so yummy

Sounds like my girlfriend, would rather go perch fishing and catch fish most of the day and make me take them off (always get out fished) than go for a laker or whitey and get one or two fish but have a good fight and feast if you catch one.
