Finally after spending the first couple opening weekends up north getting the permy shack rdy and getting the baby quad ready to ride the ice, I made it out! Also after many years of wanting one I got a new flip shelter this year, I decided on the Eskimo Sierra thermal. Love it, my first flip. Lots of room for one. Should be good with 2.

I made it out around 11:30, late as hell. Started @ 122’ and nothing doing out there. Made a move, nice how quick your packed up and on your way with these style shelters. Next stop. Shallower. As I’m driving paralell with a pressure crack out from BBP I get close to my target depth and I see a bunch of blood on the ice where someone’s hut had been. Since nobody was around I decided that was a good place to try my second stop for the day. Marked a few here and was then rewarded with a nice chaser.

First one of the year and she actually bit, surprised me really. Marked a few fish in bottom I couldn’t convince. Packed up around 3:20 as the rain had let up a bit. Good enough of s start for me!!!

Sounds like a good day, all in all! Was thinking of checking out BBP on Friday. Is the parking still free on BBP st, or elsewhere? I used to frequent BP but not since they've installed the $25 fee on guest Rd. Been perchin out of sibbalds so far but looks like the time to hit the bigger water.
