Just wondering if anyone knows if there is any ice on the most western part of the harbor.. I do know that ships are still going in there but they stay right at the eastern side.. In law's informed me that a ship went in there a couple of days ago.. Cheers Fishmagnet..

I was over the bridge on Thursday and everything was froze over but the thickness I’m not sure. I’ve been wondering about fishing there since I read an article, but not sure how the fishing is or how to even access it.

Fishmagnet you talking about the park area? If so there where guys out off the ramp, Walked out. A few slabs to be had. Live on the mountain and fish it when frozen. Might head out tomorrow.

I usually walk out from coots and into the bay that way.. Maybe today's satellite pic will show us something.. I know the shallow water in coots is all frozen over but looking to get into the main bay...

Yesterday bay was iced over and 2 ships anchored. Ships gone today whole bay looks frozen over from skyway bridge. I know lots of huts out at Bayfront boat launch last Friday already. Have not been out yet .. was up at Cooks Bay yesterday tho with son. Prob go out Monday.

Was out this afternoon in the channel by the boat launch at Bayfront. 6" of black ice. Handful of other huts there as well. Caught two perch - a 7 & 8". Saw a catfish swim by on the underwater camera but nothing else really - slow day.

I didn't trek out farther than the end of the channel today but yesterday while I walked around and scouted the same area in advance I saw a hut far out in the middle of the bay so can only assume its safe enough there as well.

What depth was it there if you don't mind another question. When I'm down there I target the 20 to 40ft .. There are some big big fish there that is for sure.. good luck on the next outing..

Can anybody let me know where to head out from for ice fishing the harbour? I've never fished that area before. Usually out toward Niagara or Lake Simcoe. I'm in Grimsby so finding some local spots closer to home would be nice this year as as it gets costly driving up north every week... Just looking where about to park/walk out from. I'll find my way from there. Thanks in advance!!
