Hi Everybody I have never fished the Niagara Bar before and I am thinking about heading down this next friday for my first attempt. I will be fishing from My Kayak (Ocean Trident 13) since the wind isn't supposed to be too crazy (14km to the north). Can somebody tell me if the lake is frozen over at the shoreline and possibly not even accessible? I will be launching near Mississauga Beach. Does anybody with experience forsee any major problems with this? Any advice will be much appreciated.

The Niagara Bar is nothing to play with especially in a yak (THIS TIME OF YEAR). I've spoken to guys in a motor powered boats that had to motor around ice flow for miles that was coming down the river just to get in.
I (we) would hate to read about another fisherman doing something foolish.
