I used to think I loved fishing. After I bought my Marcum a couple of years ago, I now love catching... fish that is. LOL I have a back-up battery /booster that I use when the Marcum battery gives out(after using for a long week-end) Well, FatRap's battery gave out before mine did this year and I let him use the spare. Of course, 1/2 an hour later my battery went but I didn't have the heart to take my spare away from Dave, so I went without for the rest of the day. I didn't even feel like fishing without it. Thank god the bite died off for the day LOL. Long story short, I can attribute 80% of the fish I caught this year directly to the flasher... Best money I ever spent.

Only way to go is with electronics pulled my hds 7 out of my boat and rigged up for the shack wouldn't fish without it. Works like a charm actually have 2 of them set up with no problems.

I really think they are key! the beams are adjustable and narrow for deeper waters and are a big factor for getting skunked or catching fish..example; last weekend at our local lake ( 4 hrs south of nip ) we were in 50 feet of water and if we had noe eyes under the ice we would have been skunked, cause all 20+ walleye caught were in 20 feet...we would have dropped 30 feet below them and wouldn't even have known they were there

Would the Garmin Striker 4 portable Kit be alright for a novice ice fisherman who only goes out 2 or 3 times a year with local hut operators? Don't want to spend a lot of money. Thanks in advance for your feedback.
