Fishing for the Biggest Fish in the lake..., Video

Went fishing today for carp, made a video of my adventure, any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated...

For Carp in those spots try chumming with corn or a good chum mix. You can make your own just look it up on utube.

You could even try chumming the night before you go to have some carp in that area in the morning.

x2 on that and then get your bait on bottom,,can stil use float, just keep adusting

Great video and all good points made previous and my point to add is when you catch a carp and your fishing over top of ice, to the open water, the ice may cut your line. Also try frozen or can corn. You can add your own flavors to it as well. Carp like sweet and garlic flavors. But chum with those flavours first so they get used to it, then fish for them. My biggest carp caught was in July of 2017 weighing in at 42.7 pounds. Tight lines and all the best

Chum will up your odds for sure I like to use the boilie carp rig fish seem to hold on a second longer. Once the water warms up they will swim in big schools so more chum the better.

Really enjoy watching your vids, keep it up, nothing is better than on the water experience, nice to see you trying. X2 on the chumming and corn, I buy a 25 lb bag at feed mill of dry corn and soak it forc48 hrs, it’s cheap, use a hair rig if you can, google it, pretty simple, would definitely get rid of the bobber for carp... good luck

X2 on all that was said. I am a huge fan of float fishing for carp though (weather permitting of course). There's something about watching the slipfloat glide on the surface and eventually disappear that I just love and after decades of fishing it still look at it as I did when I was a kid! Either way the bait must be presented on the bottom, that is where carp feed.
Chumming is very helpful! Don't have to go crazy, just lob in the odd handful every half hour or so to keep them around but not to fill them up. Also chum with the same "food" as your bait. ie. if you are using corn, make sure there's corn in the chum; if you are using boilies on a hair rig, than chum with boilies (just make sure they sink). In the spring when they spawn look for them practically on shore in just a few feet of water on the edge of last years reeds.
