Hey Guys. Heading up to Boshkung Lake for Lake trout. This is my first time ever fishing for Lake trout. I've done some research and picked up some white tubes a headdon sonar, I've got lots of swim baits and spoons. Just wondering if there is anything else I should be considering. .Thanks.

Well first time fishing for Lakers and it was alot of fun. We only caught 3 but lost a few as well. The ice was approximately 12" thick still and no snow. The day started out overcast and brightened up in the afternoon. We fished from 8am till 6pm, the morning bite was very good and died right off all afternoon.

We tried tubes, swim baits, headdon sonar, spoons, buckshot you name it. They wouldn't commit. Our outfitter came out and fished with us for a bit to show us how it was done after using a tube and jigging it for a while he couldnot get the fish to commit. He said boys they're lazy today so on went a slip sinker and minnows. That's when we started to get them.
