Hey guys,

I dont know where to post this question for Conservation area fishing, so I apologize ahead of time if this thread doesnt belong here.

Im thinking of going to the Valens fishing derby this weekend. Could I get some tips on equipment to use for the following fish: Blue gill, crappie, perch.

This will be at the Valens Conservation and the depth is about 8-9ft.

What size hooks, bait, etc should I use for those fish species listed above?

Thanks again.

Small jigs or spoons tipped with maggot, or small minnows. Use light line 4-6lb

Have fished there years ago. Many nice size pike. Try a nice silver Williams spoon. Good luck and tight lines.
