Just moved to Penetang. Bait? Shore fishing?, Looking for a bait shop and a good spot

Hey everyone just moved to Penetang for the summer. I was hoping someone could tell me whereabouts I can find minnows nearby. And possibly put me on a nice shore fishing spot for some perch or crappie. I was thinking the mouth of the Wye river but any info would be greatly appreciated...feel free to PM me if you don't want to share your spots with everyone. Thanks. Happy fishing.

Wye river is a good spot for perch, carp and catfish.

Nope can't get much at backwater anymore....he's been closed since the middle of winter. If you want minnows you will have to go to feserton. I as well recently moved to pentang and I have fished enough since being here. I have caught perch all in around pentang bay but in a boat and I have managed fish off the dock in town. As far as crappie I got skunked last night in the boat out of midland....I'm still trying to learn the lake and where to go.. Good luck and if you get into any be sure to let us know!

Thanks fer the info guys...I seen a sign for a fishing store just opening in Midland I think...475 dominion Ave. So hopefully he will carry minnows.
