For the most part pike are unwanted in the Kawartha Lakes, namely those joined by the Trent waterway since they can compete with the existing muskie population. They are making their way into the system slowly through the trent-severn system and the lakes around Lake Simcoe. They are comfirmed in Canal Lake and Balsam Lake. Lots of small ones in Canal Lake and some Tiger-Muskie being caught in Balsam. Best lakes in the area as far as I know would be Canal and Dalrymple. With the biggest pike coming out of Lake Simcoe itself and the area around Trenton.

ive caught pike off the dock at a friends cottage the past few years running. micro missiles for the most part with the biggest being no more than 3 pound. inside the cottage i found a very dated ( it said to call Zenith5000 for ministry info MNR letter asking cottage owners to not just report but in fact kill any pike caught: and referred to them as an invasive species gaining access vis the TS system.
**i'm NOT saying it is sanctioned to kill pike. please check the regs and satisfy yourself.

had a cottage on canal lake , and was catching pike in there 24 years ago bigest was 10lb with a ton of hammer handles,, in the beginning mnr said to report all and kill, then they started to come and check the catches once in a while, and noticed that some people were killing small musky,, not knowing the difference, so they changed their tune and told us to release but still report catches

It's truely a shame that pike are getting into the Kawartha's. Over time they will affect the Musky population. Pike hatch earlier then Musky, so the small pike will eat alot of baby musky.
