Smelt run, Smelts

Would anyone have information on the smelt run in Trout Lake. Thanks.

I'm heading down there to check tonight.

I am also interested. Every year I plan on catching some but I'm still a smelt noob.

The issue is nowadays most lands around the lake are private owned and the 4 mile creek is now a no-fishing zone. People have been fined there before.

I used to have contacts further down south but not anymore.So I'm exploring locally this year but its tough finding a place here around though. Anypone smelt-fish Nipissing?

It was around the Kearney,Emsdale area! I lived in the south and had a sister that lived there.Recently moved to North Bay area

Kearney / Huntsville has good fishing and wildlife. I hear that there's a healthy sustainable turkey population in that area

As for smelt, I'm pretty sure Lake of the Bays still has a decent run.

Oh and with that heavy rain, you can be sure they'll be running any time now.

Going to check again this weekend! Keeping fingers crossed.
