I noticed on my new Helix 7 CHIRP SI GPS G2 the metric units are not listed anymore. So I am not able to choose Celsius for the water temperature or Kph for the boat speed. Or to start a navigation track to a waypoint. I don't want to do the math of Nautical miles X 1,853 meters.
Calling Humminbird I was told I got the wrong product as only Helix 7X models come with World units.... First of all, if they are selling to Canada the metric system should be an available option. My friend has an older Helix 9 and he doesn't have this issue. My older Humminbird 597 had both, imperial and metric.
I went to BassPro Vaughan Mills today, the sales person didn't hear about this issue before and we noticed all Helix products had only imperial measuring units. I just found this on Humminbird FAQ page: Only products purchased through our authorized International Distributor will read in Celsius. Another post is saying Temperature is set in degrees Fahrenheit, and for the international models, in Celsius. Are we the 51st state and I didn't hear it?

Seems odd to me, I had a helix 5si, and now own a 9si and 10si mega, and on all of them you can switch back and forth from either unit of measurement. I’m still old school and stick to Fahrenheit for water temps, but I can see where it’d be a pain if your stuck on wanting Celsius.

they should release a firmware update to change that in my opinion , i use a gen 1 helix 7 with latest firmware and i can use either.
I just got BS reply from Humminbird letting me know that if I purchased the unit from US - it's my problem. Well, I did not. I got from BassPro @ Vaughan Mills.

Unfortunately Bass Pro only sells US units here in Ontario. I spoke with the manager at Johnson Outdoors and he asked right away where I bought it from because it had the US part number on back. I said BPS, and he said yeah, they are the only ones that sell it here.
He also mentioned something about Quebec selling the real “Canadian” version, and the BPS US model being the worldwide version.
Good luck, but I still say to call George and see what he says.

Give George a call and see if he can help with an update that has the Canadian version built in. He is super helpful with HB products.
Thanks for the advice! I will call George tomorrow morning! I passed this evening by Radioworld and Sail and all their Humminbird Helix had thw World units and 21 languages. I got mine on sale at PBS for $775, now it's back at $875. Sail sales is for $899 and $955 at Radioworld.
