Hey, I was thinking of heading down to Windsor this weekend for the white bass run... as I’m coming from the niagara region this will be a long drive so I was wondering if anyone knows if the white bass are running in the Detroit river now.. thank and tight lines

I would wait a week or 2 yet for the best silver bass fishing. They are starting to catch them from the boats. If you are driving a long distance I would wait, not saying you won't get some. The eyes are in their and usually you don't get both in any numbers at the same time.

Reports of silvers being caught now but the numbers are still low. I'd wait like a week or two and by then the silvers should be in thick.

Too early. Tons of boats fishing eyes still, not whites. Had 7 male eyes Sunday morning, 2 white bass, 1 smallie, and a 26" cat. Lasalle.

Good luck to everyone fishing the silver bass, will not make it down this year, but amazing action when they are around.

Wondering how others cook them. I don't mind a feed fried in butter in frying pan. Have had them in fish chowder was pretty good, little strong, but that is fish chowder.
