Catfish actually do have venom in their fins

Nice fish there. I like the way you get excited

as for catfish, yup , get any of the pec fins or dosal prick you and it hurts. best thing to do is to rub the wound on belly of that same cat and pain is gone in 1-3 minutes....trust me......

They dont "sting" but when their fins puncture through your skin you get a dose of venom.

https://www.catfishedge.com/how-to-hold-catfish/

From the above link:
"The spines contained in the dorsal and pectoral fin contain a venom that causes edema (swelling) and a hemolytic (causes increased blood flow in the area of the injury) if these spines puncture the skin."

https://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/20...-poisonous.html

Roughly half of the ~3000 known species of catfish are venomous.

I don't know if the pain is gone but you'll have on happy catfish . Think I would suffer the pain of the sting than be accused of abusing a catfish
