Well it finally happened, the first two miserable weather days on my days off!Yuk!!! My schedule did allow me to fish Sunday afternoon and into the evening even though the weather wrongers were forecasting rain.
I wasn't expecting too much on the afternoon and evening fish as I figured my main Walleye location would have been pretty pounded by weekenders and a highway of boat traffic.Any Walleye would be a bonus as the forecasters were calling for a gale with rain likely on Monday. They did get that correct.I fished for three and a half hours on this Sunday evening and managed to boat two walleye and a couple of decent pike. The one Walleye was just shy of the keeping size of 22" inches and the other was also a slot size fish at 19" inches.A good evening for sure and the bonus the rain held off!
Monday was a horrible weather day which completely kept me off the water! Yuk
Tuesday morning I decided to head for the Bay again, no rain, but a steady gale at 40k from the west would keep the Walleye safe as I would turn around and head to a local nearby lake and try my luck on Crappie. I didn't have much luck on the target species, but man I couldn't have asked for a better replacement. BLUEGILL'S everywhere!!! And some Lunkers! Toss in a couple of Pike and many OOS Bass and man I couldn't ask for a better day of fishing! Gotta love them smaller back lakes when the kids are still in school.Bye for now,as usual have a Crappie day!
