Fishing was ok too.....
Managed a large King first thing......and then a couple small bows...
Sun came up and the fishing slowed right down.....managed 2 more bows before the heat sent us packing at 1:30.
The king was released after a 15 minute battle and 15 minute revival.......my neighbour said it was the biggest fish he has seen let alone catch....he was so pumped ......said that made getting up at 3 am worth it...lol...
After I netted it, his arms were so tired he couldn't lift it over the side of the boat....
On a side note all the bows could not be revived......spent so much time trying......wonder if this is common? They did fight like giant kings.....oh well they didn't got to waste......the neighbour was told by the doctor to eat more fish.....fish he'll eat.
Water was nice and calm.....the water fleas were bad on the braid.....mono was fine.....
Can't wait to go again!
Cheer
Greg

Nice work!

I think that I chatted back and forth with you yesterday on the water. Or at least I think that was you (Legend boat?). I have a 18ft Princecraft with a couple of kids and buddies on it yesterday. We lost a large king right away off a dipsey/sd/meat rig but that was it. Slowest day by far this year. We managed one small bow that couldn't be revived either. Maybe had to do with water temps??

Yes sir ....that was me.....couldn't believe the bows......and the King was a sweet pickup.....we stayed when everyone else bailed and picked up the other two bows....
Love the Princecraft boats.....what year is yours?......I'm shopping around for something a little bigger and faster.....
Cheers
Greg

Right on that was you! I got the Princecraft this spring as an upgrade to my older boat. Definitely worth it- beautiful boat and real good on large water.

That was my first trip to that part of Lake O. I will have to give it another shot as I know that they can get #'s there. I have been trekking over on the western side this June with great success. Will try back there next week and keep you posted.

Sounds and looks like a good day on the water despite the temps, great job of getting your neighbor on the fish Greg

you do not not have enough posts to us pm feature.25 is number I believe.

glad you got out there Greg.....far as bow revival, tough when water surface temps get this high.....I spoke about this at length some years ago.

only way I know how is not to bring them in the boat at all.

Wasn't too upset that the bows didn't survive Shank....well maybe the big one....
Hard to not bring them in the boat when your fishing with someone who doesn't fish....lol. With the dipseys and other riggers still out there.......we released the King thinking it was ok......then it floated......turned around to retrieve and as we pulled up to it , it took off for the bottom......playing possum.....
As per your pm......earlier...... I think 24 hrs would be ok for most.....unless there is a booked dr appt. or something.......wanna learn from the King...
Cheers
Greg

Nice work, nothing wrong with bringing a few fish home! I'm heading out of 16 mile tomorrow, thinking of taking a trip over to the pier by bronte and back. hopefully I mark a few more fish than last weekend. Either way it'll be a good day

Hey Greg

Well done.

I'm keeping an eye on the wind forecast for next Wednesday and Thursday and hope to get down there on one of those days.
