Those are some serious figures no doubt!
I’m already in on my new boat which is an Alumacraft (from the US of course), so I may have dodged the crazy increases. I guess the solution is to buy a boat in the next 2 weeks if you haven’t already?
As I said before... they seem expensive as it is right now. Adding 20-30% is going to be a real punch in the gut for a lot of retailers and consumers.
You also have to wonder what it might do to the used market. If the seller has more people lined up to buy their boat, I assume the price will increase. I mean, if a new boat that costs $50k last year is going to be worth $65k, I expect the seller will be asking full value from when it was new knowing full well that the buyers have no choice but to spend more $ for less boat.
Crazy state of affairs. Good luck to the buyers... get it now, or pay the piper later!

I'm no fan of Trudeau, but he didn't start this idiotic trade war.

Its as good a time as any to promote buying Canadian. I think its great that these retailers are cancelling their orders, it shows that the retaliatory tariffs are having the desired effect and if anything more products should be added to the list.
Unfortunately Trumps steel and aluminum tariffs are going to effect all products made with those materials regardless of if they are made in Canada or not. We can at least send a message by choosing to avoid products made in the US. Canada is the largest consumer of US goods in the world, Trump wants to make it seem like they don't need us and we are lucky to get whatever he allows us to have but he will figure it out eventually.
