Yes, there is a problem in that area. Many anglers do not know that section is Catch & Release Only.. Since historically it was a kill zone. I'm glad the MNR has created these year round fishing C&R zones to increase opportunities for sportfishing.

I fish that area quite often and have never seen anyone take fish from there. Have seen some guys that I thought might be a little sneeky looking, but have not seen them take fish. I guess i might have to watch a little closer.

I'm glad to hear you are an active fisherman...
Alot of out-of-towners fish that area only once a year and may not know about the regulation changes. I have talked to a few guys while fishing that stretch and some did not know it was a C&R zone.

Just putting it out there , because i think many people are still unsure of this zone from what my eye can see being out there . They have the exact sign posted , a long the river and where you park your vehicle. yes, I have seen many people walking out with a rainbow trout. If you go further up to Wasaga I believe its open . They did a great job making this section / zone a Catch & Release for Rainbow & Steel-head Population . Keeps the sport going and also many angler's can enjoy Angling year after year .

I`ll try not to be such a " lurker". When you don`t know people, you sometimes get slagged for saying something because you are the NEW guy. When the time comes, I usually fish that section at least once a week. Maybe I have talked with you or others at one point. Take care..George

Its all good George. Your obviously doing the right thing out there . Just for the ones who are unsure of the regulations fishing that zone like Jerry Said , out-of-towners coming up for the opener every now and then . I am also out there often myself. Always wearing a camo hat bass pro , compound bow across it . Make sure you say hi don't be a stranger . I will be sure to bring a extra coffee next time i am up .
Wow! How could people not read the regulations? I'm coming up to this river for the first time and spent the last week looking and researching information. Would you say the catch and release section is quiter? Thats what I'm hoping? going to be swing some flies on my spey rod!
