Checked out couch for the first time today and pulled a chunky smallmouth out from 25 fow which was a surprise. Got a few small perch and worked our way back shallow tonnes of dinky perch in shallow but not any big ones. Disgusting all the random garbage and bottles left out there by people today. How lazy can you be that you cant bring a bottle back to shore and drop it in the bin.

I just got back from Tudhope from my first few hours on the ice this season. Ended up with a decent little meal, a dozen decent perch and another half dozen not so decent but filletable lol No pike on the jawjacker but I did see what looked to be about a 4 lb catfish cruising around under me, that was cool. The ice where I was (12fow) was only about 5 and a half inches thick. It was good strong ice, but not terribly thick. I wanted to try out in the 25 fow area, but when I ventured out there the ice made frightening sounds and buckled a little....needless to say I scampered back to 12 fow and stayed there It seems the warm up did remove ice. If you go in the next little while be careful and avoid the deep.

Hey Gord88, as a fisherman and a landowner on couchiching I appreciate the fact that you took the time and picked up the litter. It really is disgusting the amount of trash left on the lake and at the landings. Merry Christmas!
