The Manitou islands are usually a good spot. But I fish Nip in the winter, and summer. Not sure what they would be like on opener.

I only fish Nipissing in Winter and Summer also but have heard The west side off Fraser island in South Bay is good in the Spring.

Any place up in the shallows on that side of the lake is good. Spring Walleye tend to be up shallow chasing baitfish until the shads hit. If you have a decent boat, find some shoals or go out by Goose Island. Good luck.

A lot of the walleye in Nipissing spawn along the rocky shorelines, fishing along these areas opening day will produce. The northern pike spawn in the shallow bays, so fishing the outer edges usally produces well with larger 10 lbers and up.
Good luck!
