Hey guys I was just wondering if you locals could let me know your thoughts on cooks bay or vb being ready to fish dec 31st?. My wife and I are planning on coming up for first ice, we’ll be making a decent drive down about 4 and a half hours. We’re targeting perch so any recommendations on where to head out and lodge would be great!. I normally go in March every year and stay at tajs, would go back there early ice just didn’t think that part of the lake would be safe to get out to Perch grounds. Thanks a lot of ur time guys. Tight lines!!

May not be much fishable ice on Simcoe by 31st this year depending on the weather.
You can fish Couch for perch if Simcoe is not ready and stay in the town of Orillia.

The blue ice report posted today out of Gilford road that cooks bay has just frozen over today. Hopefully with cold nights it will be ready in a couple of weeks. Not sure about Dec 31st?
