Well I haven't put up a report in awhile and the regulars here are starting to make me look bad.. LOL

As many of you know, when I put my boat away, I start hitting the rivers for fall steelhead.

This fall has been pretty good, with quite a bit of precipitation and decent river levels. Compared to last fall, where we were plagued by extreme low water levels and clear water, this fall it's been the opposite, high and murky conditions. Some days were just a bust with unfishable conditions, but timing is everything when it comes to steelheading and I was able to make a few days click, and hooked into some nice fall chromers. Biggest fish so far this fall is a 10 lb buck, average steelhead 4-6 lbs. I fish some of the most pressured waters in the province, so it can be challenging finding some fish willing to bite and that haven't been stung. Roe has out performed beads and pinkies for me this fall, although I change presentations daily. Hot colour as always for me is chartreuse, although peach and white have been successful as well. Only concern I have, is that I have been catching very very few small shakers. No 1-2 lb fish at all.. In past years I would always catch a few, this year, and even last fall, none at all. Hopefully this is not a trend, as we need these small shakers in relatively decent numbers for the future.

Some fish pics from this fall..

Cheers & happy fishing.

Nice fish. I caught a couple of small shakers this fall but as you said less than previous years.

Funny guy...

You know I did all that yard bs, winterize boat and changed tires etc. during the winter of Oct 2018.

And yup, now its mild outside...

Nice job, was beginning to wonder if your noodle rod was broken or maybe holey waders, lol.... ive also seen only a few shakers since early October, but i took alot of them early in the season, although not in the system you fish.

Nice chrome bows jerry.

Noticed the same thing up this way .

Most rainbows we got were all in between 4 - 8.5lb range .

Not many shakers at all.

Still good fishing here just have to do a little more leg work.
Scattered through the system this time of year....
