Mora swede bore with drill.

Knuguy....I wonder if you got a wood drill that would fit in between the blades and have a welder centre and weld this wood bit on the Mora auger.......shorten the bit first.

I was thinking that if I could drill & tap a hole in the bottom, as Mr X showed above, I could insert a screw like shown on the attached.

Use the one on the left.....drill a hole.....screw it in.......take to a welder and have him tack it.

That's the one I was thinking of. I'm not sure what the other one is. My plan was to add a locknut rather than weld it.

The other one looks like a lead plug for anchoring a bolt in cement.......try your way can always weld it if it does not hold....hopefully it will chew into the ice......if not then the auger will go nowhere.

It's a wood screw so should cut ice better than wood

Must find out the model number. I say, if it is not Model 2704-20 or even better 2804-20 (both with max 1,200 in-lbs torque), then forget it:-)

Yes indeed. Sometimes the batts cost almost as much as he drill.

Had this 'couch leg screw' mounted with a tapped hole and a locknut. Tried it yesterday on a local pond and seems to work very well! No mora wandering augers!!!

May I suggest a dab of "Lock Tite" on the threads to give you piece of mind
