Virginia Beach ?, Ice Conditions !

I know am its a little early but I am interested ln the ice conditions at Virginia Beach ? I know that it is one of the earliest to freeze along with Port Bolster. Is the ferry running ? Any update will help.

I was interested too after I seen this and the blue ice report this afternoon.
So I called around, finally got an answer from Mitchell’s in Beaverton.
He said he still sees open water from shore. I know that’s not VB or PB but he was the only guy to pick up the phone.

Vb was half ice covered yesterday with the high winds lots of open water out from the ferry toward the ne side of the island. If there was any ice connecting main to the island it was a small amount. . Was after dark when I went by today wont be long before it skims all the way over .

Was at Port Bolster yesterday. The ice goes way, way out - I couldn't see any open waterm from sbore, but I wouldn't walk out on it if u paid me. No one was out and there was no sign that anyone was even attempting to step or even skate on it yet.
