Dalrymple ice conditions?, Lake Dalrymple

I realize it's late to be asking, but has anyone got an idea of ice conditions on Lake Dalrymple? Looking to switch it up for tomorrow and try another new to me lake. Thanks, I'll be checking this board tonight for any awnswes.

I apprecheaite the comment Pyro thanks very much. I understand when you say your hearing it from a third party and that's cool. Gives me a start. If the stars align and I do get out I'll post up thickness for sure.

there was a thread in one of the other rooms mentioning a few guys were out in some spots but open water on one area ..may have said the east side ? cant recall

I fish Dalrymple a few times in summer but never fished it in winter.
I would not recommend going ice fishing for the first time there alone this time of year and in this weather conditions when the ice is iffy.

Have a buddy that lives there. He put his hut out on the 24 and I called him today, 8" in the bay where he is set up. Heading up tomorrow for the day. There is a few huts set up by the comunity center. Stay clear of the channel between the upper and lower. Best to head out from the center for now and fish the bay. Will be in the Frabill hut with red Hunda Atv.

a few of us were thinking of checking it out new years. had heard people were out but nothing on ice conditions... can somebody shoot me a PM about parking situations? we were thinking of heading out from the community centre but unsure of parking.

Ilyukha; few of us going. Not ignoring your warning and I'll pass the info onto the two others. I'm not new to ice fishing and can't remember going out this early and I'm no pro just think I use good judgement. Was out on Couch last weekend and had safe ice outta tudhope. Just a quick google map I see Dalrymple almost as North and figured why not. By the way I'm not a fan boy of walking on 3" of ice. I much prefer later in the season when it's much colder.

Fishdude-Lowe; I'll search for a rec center. Never been there before, but last season I was made aware about the narrows. Thanks for the reminder. Red Honda bike and frabil....noted.

Yes, definitely stay away from the channel between Upper and Lower Dalrymple and keep in mind that walleye is closed there now, so it’s just the panfish and pike.

Unfortunately due to a member of our group who couldn't get up early enough we didn't get out there, instead went to Couch for a day. All the best it worked out and we brought a kid ice fishing for the first time and the perch there kept him more than happy. Thanks to all who did reply with my initial question it's much appreciated. Once we get some more colder nights I'll make my over there.

Have been out on the southern side of the lake. 6+ inches of good ice. Down towards the far end of the south side it is open water off of Campbell's beach. As usual there watch the narrows.

What about you Fishdude-Lowe? Did you make it out? How'd ya do? Is the whole lake solid? I'm thinking about going up to a buddy's place and walking to the deep from the point. Of course alternatively I could drive around to the community center.

Made it out for the day, and fished the bay by the community center. There are two permanent huts set up there in about 8ft of water. Friends of mine own the huts. We fished in about 10ft of water about 50yds passed the huts, 7" inches of good ice. We caught 7 pike and two dozen dinky perch. The pike were all about 3 to 4lbs. Took the ATV but didn't go out in the main lake, still not ready. Lots of people out skating and playing hockey along the shore lines. If you fish the bay stay in 8 to 10ft look for the weed bed.
