Whirloool?

Would somebody experienced with niagara river please tell me how the rain expected tonite into tomorrow will affect the river. We're expecting 5-10mm. It's a far drive to go to a blown river. I know it's just your opinion. I will not hold it against you in a court of law.

In my opinion, rain does absolutely nothing to the Niagara. 10mm won't change the color of it at all. The Niagara is all dependent upon the wind, if it comes from a certain direction then it will be completely blown it. I usually only fish it in the pouring rain and never has the water color been affected by it.

The lower Niagara absolutely gets impacted by rain, snow or wind...rain will send sediments in as will wind.

Both ae happening tomorrow any se , s or sw wind in excess of 25 klm will dirty the water up

can u still catch fish, certainly, but more favourable days are far better with hookups

60km south wind on Lake Erie tomorrow with rain will definitely impact the river water clarity. My opinion chocolate milk this weekend.

In my experiences with niagara rain doesn’t have much impact on colour. It’s the wind you need to watch. North, east are best. Heavy South or west winds blowing down Erie will muck it up.

Rain impacts the lower but mostly below the power plants, after a rain the runoff will go into the reservoir and through the plants, above the plants can be clearer, so the glen/whirlpool may be clear after a rain. However strong west or south west winds dirty Lake Erie and this flows directly into the Niagara turning the entire system to mud. If you see strong west winds in the forecast chances are the river is a mud hole for awhile, it takes a few days to clear depending on how stirred up Lake Erie gets.
