Hey guys.. Heading up to Bear Creek Cottage on Wednesday for a couple of days. I am fairly new to the ice fishing world would appreciate any help as far as what to purchase for rod/reel/line/jigs etc.... for that area. I have a buddy coming up with me who will have a fish finder as well. I live close to Cabelas in the Barrie area and will have some fun shopping for the " tools of the trade" Thanks and tight lines

Jigs, blue fox tinglers, buckshots and vibratos have all worked well for us. If things get slow a split shot and hook with a minnow can’t be beat. Whatever you’re using, tie on a hook about a foot up from the jig/lure and hook a minnow on it. Other than that, ask Shawn and his crew what’s working for other huts. Don’t be afraid to ask, they are a wealth of information and know who’s catching on what and are more than willing to share info. Most of all have fun and good luck.
