We had a great first ice fishing outing of 2019 on the lady today. It was packed!! Cars and trucks for miles along Hadden Rd and the paid parking near the ferry launch in VB.
Thank you to the parking enforcement for the $30 ticket
Never the less, a great day starting at 7:30 am, jumbos within 5 minutes of our first two holes, then waves of good perch throughout the day. We moved twice because the water was pretty milky, but it was the same in every spot. We took enough fish home for a couple of family feeds, with only a half dozen of true jumbos kept.
I'm adding some photos for your enjoyment!
The ice was consistently 6.5" to 7", with lots of pressure fractures, which made walking fun.
Thanks to the guy that thought that the area between our huts was his own personal race track, as he flew across the ice sideways at breakneck speed
