Holly macaroni......would be throwing out my underwear out if that happened to me. Arnie
Wow, that's pretty scary. Arnie, if you are planning to go out for whiteys soon let me know, not wise to go alone with this kinda stuff happening. I was planning to hit the same area either tomorrow or Tuesday, but now have serious second thoughts about going alone.
Will take you up on that offer Icecy and thank you.......but yes will wait a little longer now for sure......I usually have one other buddy with me.....he lurks on the forum but not a member.

Split our holes right in half
From that second photo i have the impression that you guys were sitting on a previous crack that was refrozen. Is that right or am I misinterpreting the photo?

Nope No crack there when I drilled them I think the holes were likely just the weakest part but I’m not sure

Glad you are OK Daniel , too bad about the finder for sure. But I can't believe that nobody has asked this yet ?
How deep were you fishing, what were you using and did you catch anything before that little crack thingy ???
You can use my finder when I get my lesson from you many weeks from now !
Unfortunately I was only fishing for about 20 minutes before that happened and if I didn’t lose the finder then I would have been eating whitefish for dinner!
