Got an early start yesterday about 645 am. First I walked west, really really far west. No fish. Then I walked south found no takers, then east and still no takers. Then I walked north and still the whities had lock jaw. Walked a total of 9 km in depths from 14 to 30 Fow. Seen about 8 fish on the finder and only 1 showed any interest ( chased a vabrato off bottom but would not take the bait). The day ended with 1 fish between three guys fishing hard. Ice condition did not make for easy walking in a lot of the area. It looked like ice was dropped from the sky and froze on impact. I'm feeling mighty sore, lol. Had to pass 3 major cracks that had soft ice on top then 3 inches of water and good ice (as far as I could tell)under that. Ice was between 7-9 inches in the holes I punched. It was good day other than the lock jaw on the whities.

That is a lot of walking Mmm. It's amazing how much being geared up to stay warm, heavy boots and a load of ice fishing gear really wears on you. At least we have that ice to walk 9km on. I tried Kemp last Sunday with my son and after some massive ice quakes that almost led to the need for new pants we left fishless as well.
