WELL I GOT OUT TO POTTERS CREEK SATURDay morning around 6 am. spudded my way out to about 14 fow and drilled two holes and set up the hut. glad i brought a lantern cause sure is dark out there lol. got in the hut and even darker. put on a vabrato in one hole and slip bobber with a minnow in another hole. and the waite was on around 9 am my first hit on the bobber and out comes a 4 in perch woo hoo. it is game on argg' so this continued til around 11 am and still nothing on my jig. marking lots of little stuff on the graph but nothing to me to take notice of. so the mind begins to wander . what if, what about. how about, where about. and after changing up on 3 more different jigs i decided there were no takers in the area or i just suck at fishing. lol i decide time to relocate to hopeful better fishing grounds. packed up and back to the truck drove to another part of the big bay of quinte. so it was around 12:30 when i drilled another hole. and with in 10 minutes a nice 11.5 in perch takes the bobber under and fish on the ice. then on a little buck shot i get a little tug while jigging and up comes a 8 in walleye. hey i know 8 in who cares. i sure as heck do. it is the right species, too small so it went back to grow. but the andrenilan is flowing and on high alert. over the next 1.5 hours three more walleye in between 8 and 10 in show up for a little fun. as well as 50 or so small perch and 6 more keeper perch. day was not a lose in my books at this point. then around 3:30 pm i get a good tug on my jig on the drop. i start to pull up and off it goes FISH ON and was on for about two minutes and comes to the hole. clear ice and i am looking at a nice 3.5 to 4 lb walleye moving into position to bring the head up and it must of thought i was ugly cause it turned its head and spit my hook. arrgg what i rookie, dumb a##, you forgot to give it a good hook set. now i am p**sed on with it and down goes my jig (cursing all the way). 15 minutes later another hard tug and i reef on the rod to set the hook. ha ha i got em i think you aint goin no where. fight for five minutes and it starts to run again(excited as hell) all i keep seeing is this beautiful quinte gold flashing every time it turns. got it about 6 feet down and off again squeeling reel and all then snap... line broke at the reel where it was tied on it ran all my line off the reel . SOO p***ed. grabbed another rod and put it down the hole to no avail not another hit the rest of the day. i was done like toast/ but hooked forever. will be back again this weekend for another try for the gold i will not surrender. they won the fight but i will win the war sorry about the rant but i did have fun another note on my way out was stopped by an opp/mnr check opp asked about drinking and of course not me mnr asked about fish and replied yes he looked at my perch and license and told me to have a good meal with the perch. as i was there they handed out tickets to alot of none license individuals. and had fun with one mouthy person that said he was a senior at 63 and did not need a license. and limit did not count cause he was a senior and had 7 walleye. needless to say i left and thought you deserve what ever they nail you with jack**s now i am done sorry about the long winded report but still alittle peeved good luck out ther and tite lines

Hey Pickerel24,
Great reoprt don't apologize. Most of us really enjoy when board members add the extra details. Makes for an enjoyable read. The only thing that doesn't make it a perfect post.... We need the porn man. A couple pictures to help us suckers sitting at work get through the day.

Haha good stuff - great report!
@jiggin4gold - was out of Wager’s yesterday 7am to about 3ish. 8+” of good black ice where I was. 18 fow. Bunch of dink perch 3 keepers and a 28” pike. The fellas that went through allegedly came across as pressure crack that formed about 1.5km-ish east of Wager’s near the red can, around 6pm covered in slush. Both got out and are safe apparently. Ice was twanging away all day.

Great story pickerel24.
I got a great big bugger of a drum on a jigging rap from the Bay once. I asked a buddy for some help landing it because I thought it was a giant eye. He gets to my hole and looks down through the crystal clear ice to see what looked like the lid of a trash can coming up. He just laughed, turned around and said 'Good luck with that". Only time I've ever had a problem getting a fish out of a 10" hole.
