Sorry for late reply spent a good part of the day there. Fished 10 FOW lots of small perch, nothing of any size. Can confirm that there is 5” inches of ice. Had lots of marks on the flasher, the fishing stayed pretty consistent.

Went down to fifty point today group that was out at the end docks did well. Seen them pull 2 browns and a pike when I was there. For me unfortunately the one decent strike I had all day resulted in a lost rod. I put my rod down for a second to grab my scoop, before I could reach forward and grab it, it was gone. Rookie move on my part should have just held it.

But I guess I have an exscuse to buy another one.

Fifty point much thicker ice 11.5 inches.

Good day. would like to take my son to Fifty Point.
You mentioned ice was thicker there and what area do you park at. Or is it the Parks entrance there to get to the marina ?

Fifty is closed to ice fishing.
Here is the link to check status

http://conservationhamilton.ca/ice-status/

I would assume it will be closed for the season now, going by previous years.
Unless ofcourse we get some really cold weather and NO wind for a few days consistently.

Valens is still open.
