Was a tough bite today.
Managed to ice one, and lost 2.
Couple small hammer handles in there too as well as a few perch.
All in all a decent day on Lake O.

It was fun !!
This thing was a BULL. Fought hard for a good 15 mins, felt ALOT longer.
In only about 7’ of water. Where I was fishing it’s kinda a mixed bag of fish. I knew a big brown was possible, but not likely. I was using a Slab Grabber with an emerald shiner about 12” above at the time, as a small school of perch were moving through. This thing came out of nowhere and smashed the shiner. Ziiiiiiiiiing goes the drag !!

Was 25” and just a touch under 7lbs.
Can’t wait to get back out.

Also, I will mention that during the fall this year I experimented with some new Salmon Roe cures which I didn’t like the way they turned out (for Steel)
So I thought I’ll bring a jar along to maybe chum a hole. The bite was slow so I thought ahh what the hell. Let’s give it a shot. Sure enough withing 5 mins boom, first hit. On an emerald (drop shot) 1 min later gone. Damn.

20 mins goes by boom another hit on an Emerald (drop shot) gone right away again. Wth. I change from Berkely drop shot hooks to raven specialist Sz 4 I believe. Maybe about 30 mins later this school of perch comes through. I drop the slab grabber down like mentioned above (with Raven hook for emerald), and this time the hit takes and I land one.

I will forever chum my hole in this particular spot with Roe. Hahahaha

Beauty Brown!! I keep losing the trout this year... Man do they put up a fight under the ice!! Haven't even landed one yet, but it's my new favorite fish to target (Rainbows & Browns)
