What a wonderful day to go trout fishing! Rick and I headed out on Lake Weslemkoon May 30th under blue skies at around 7:30 am. We were thrilled to each catch our limit. We were fishing in 50 to 70 feet of water with 11 lb. steel wire with about 90 feet of line out. Our trolling speed was just about 1km per hour. For these trout the slower the better! What worked for us this morning was a selection of crocodile spoons and williams half and half with live minnows on a treble hook. Being out in the boat on Lake Weslemkoon is such a pleasure. This lake with its rock islands, tall pines and many coves is so beautiful that the time passes quickly, especially when you are catching fish! We do practice catch and release, but can not resist the odd excellent fish fry! We would love to see new and former guests come to Hidden Cove for some great fishing. Bass opens at the end of June, but trout is open and waiting for you to wet a line! We have cottages available the next 2 weekends! give us a call.
